# Detelinara from the air

An oblique aerial view across a district of low houses on the flat edge of the city. A straight unmade road runs to the horizon, crossing a second road at a wide junction near the centre, and the land on either side is divided into long narrow plots, each with a single house at its front and a yard and garden behind. A taller three-storey building stands at the crossing beside a long low range, with a walled yard and a rectangular pond opposite. Beyond the last houses unbroken fields run to the skyline, dotted with isolated farmsteads. Among the streets in view are Bulevar Jaše Tomića and Rumenačka, with the Detelinara market and the church of St John the Baptist. The colour was added to the black-and-white photograph in modern times.
