# Novi Sad's Skyline From the Petrovaradin Overlook, 1941

The viewer stands at a fortress overlook above the river, a stone parapet, benches, and young trees planted along the terrace, two flags flying from poles nearby. Below, the collapsed spans of the road bridge lie in the water, and across the wide Danube spreads the full skyline of Novi Sad, its church spires and rooftops receding into haze.
