# Franz Joseph Square, a Hand-tinted View With a Tram Passing, 1914

A hand-coloured view of Ferenc József tér, the main square now called Trg slobode. The savings bank carries its own name across the frieze, Ujvideki Takarekpenztar, a tram crosses in front of it and a horse cab waits at the kerb. At the foot of the Holy Trinity column a kiosk trades under the sign Burmann Sandor, puskamuves, a gunsmith, and the shops behind are signed Kovács József and Glück Jakab. This copy is dated 27 September 1914 and carries a message written in ink across the sky.
