# The Battle of Petrovaradin, 5 August 1716, by Peter Schenk the Younger

Prince Eugene of Savoy, on a rearing horse, is shown triumphing in combat over the Ottoman Grand Vizier amid a sprawling battle between Semlin and Salankemen. Parallel Dutch and Latin captions describe the Imperial victory over the Turks under Eugene's command, both explicitly dated 5 August 1716. The sheet is signed by the Amsterdam publisher Pieter Schenk.
