# The Railway Bridge and Petrovaradin Fortress, Intact, 1904

The viewer looks across the calm Danube from a low, muddy foreshore, a wooden mooring post in the foreground. Petrovaradin Fortress spreads along the far hill behind its ramparts, trees lining the walls and the clock tower visible at the right. To the left, the lattice railway bridge still stands intact, decades before its wartime destruction.
