# One-gulden state note of 1882, German side

The German side of the one-gulden state note dated Vienna, 1 January 1882, with a laureate portrait of Franz Joseph in a wreathed roundel at its head. After the settlement of 1867 the state notes became the common floating debt of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, and the text says so, before promising acceptance for one gulden of Austrian currency in all payments not due in coin. It is issued for the central treasury of the whole monarchy, the “k. und k. Reichs-Central-Casse”.
