# A Hand-Tinted View Down Jewish Street from the Corner

A hand-tinted postcard of the street, taken from the open corner at its head. A single-deck tram stands at the left beside a park tree and a lamp standard; on the right a heavy public building runs down the pavement in giant pilasters and arched windows, with shops and awnings beyond it and the street narrowing into the distance. The roadway is full of people on foot, women in long skirts and men in hats, with no motor traffic at all. The caption is lettered in Serbian Cyrillic and Latin and names the street Jevrejska, the name it took after 1918, where the same street appears on Austro-Hungarian cards as Rákóczi Ferenc utca.
