# The cycle race coming down Futoška Street

A bunch of racing cyclists sweeps toward the camera down a broad cobbled street on a wet day, the stones dark with rain and the gutter running. The leaders are strung across the near side of the road, heads down over dropped handlebars, in dark jerseys and shorts with light cotton caps, and the field stretches back behind them into the distance, thinning to single riders far down the street. A row of tall plane trees in full leaf runs along the right hand pavement, and beyond them a line of buildings recedes. On the left a plain four storey block of flats with balconies stands close to the roadway, a low fenced enclosure and a small flat roofed building in front of it. A handful of onlookers stand on the right pavement and a man in a coat watches from the kerb.
