# Franz Joseph Square, an Ornamental Lamp in the Foreground

The bilingual title, Ujvidek, Neusatz, gives the city's Hungarian and German names together, and the card's own imprint at lower left credits the publisher as Urban Ignacz. A tall ornamental lamp stands in the foreground of the square, today's Trg slobode, with a long shopfront-lined building to the left and the bank building at right; horse carriages and pedestrians in overcoats occupy the open paving, with no tram or rail line yet crossing it. A handwritten date beneath the printed title matches the card's 1902 use.
