# Collapsed airfield building after the bombing of Novi Sad

A single-storey building at the Novi Sad airfield with its corrugated roof caved in along the whole range, the window openings blown out and the render stripped off in patches. The chimney is still standing, and a lattice radio aerial with its insulators survives on the flat roof at the right, a pale pennant hanging from the pole beside it. Churned earth and scattered debris fill the foreground. German bombers struck the field in April 1941, at the opening of the occupation.
