# The bridge to Petrovaradin, beyond the trees

Trees in the foreground screen a view of the bridge to Petrovaradin, its two arched truss spans with curved top chords reaching across the Danube. On the plateau across the water the long barrack ranges run along the crest with the fortress clock tower at their end. At the right stands the Workers' Home, built in 1930 and 1931 to Dragiša Brašovan's design, its stair tower rising in banded courses beside a front with a round window high in the gable. The heading names the city in both Serbian scripts and in no other language, and the bridge still standing puts the view no later than 1941.
