# Staff of the Novi Sad post and telegraph office, 1898

The staff of the Royal Hungarian post and telegraph office at Újvidék, about sixty people, posed in the courtyard of a single-storey building in 1898, each with the tools of the work: telegram deliverers with their bicycles, parcel carriers with a loaded cart and its horse, line fitters with coils of wire, telegraphists at their Morse and Hughes instruments and the head of the office at his desk. Sorting cabinets were carried out into the yard for the picture. The photographer was Vajda Dezső, and the caption on the mount reads Az ujvidéki magy. kir. posta és távirda hivatal személyzete 1898-ik évben.
