# Main Street and the civic and commercial school

A large school building runs along the street, its ground floor rusticated and arched, its upper windows in carved frames and its name lettered along the frieze. Boys crowd before the entrance, a man stands in the road with one arm out beside a horse cab, and women in long skirts walk on the right. In the lower house next door is the book and paper shop of Ágoston Herger, a bookseller and postcard publisher in the town. The school is the Hungarian state civic and higher commercial school, which faced the Royal Hungarian Post Office across Úri utca, Lords' Street; the caption calls the street Fő utca, Main Street.
