# Guild letter engraved by Zaharije Orfelin, 1778

A certificate of the joiners' and gingerbread makers' guild of the Royal Free City of Neusatz, printed from a copper plate that Zaharije Orfelin engraved in 1774 and filled in by hand on 20 November 1778 for the journeyman joiner Jefta Vojnović. Three coats of arms crown the baroque frame: the Hungarian arms at the left, the imperial double-headed eagle in the centre and, at the right, the city's own arms of 1748, three towers with the dove above them. Below runs a long view of the town on the Danube, described on Commons as the oldest known picture of Novi Sad. The text is in German.
