# The Bishop's Court, Novi Sad, Strollers by the Iron Fence

A hand-tinted postcard shows the Serbian Orthodox Bishop's Court on a cobbled square, its turreted facade decorated with an ornamental gable. Men in bowler hats and women in long skirts and wide-brimmed hats stand and stroll in front of the iron fence, with an ornate lamppost at the right edge of the frame. The caption above the scene is printed in Hungarian, Serbian Cyrillic and German, and a message has been written by hand directly across the sky, a layout typical of cards whose reverse was reserved for the address alone.
