# Five-gulden note of the Vienna City Bank, 1806

A Banco-Zettel of the Vienna City Bank dated 1 June 1806, when the monarchy was paying for its wars against Napoleon with paper. Around the German text the value is repeated as “Öt forint”, “Pět zlatých”, “Pięć Ryńskich” and “Cinque fiorini”, in Hungarian, Czech, Polish and Italian, and the note is to be taken as cash for any due. Two blind-embossed seals sit in the lower corners, the serial is written in by hand, and the year closes the sheet as MDCCCVI.
