# The demolished road bridge between Novi Sad and Petrovaradin

Twisted girders and leaning lamp standards are all that remain of the road bridge across the Danube, its wreckage sagging into the water in front of the Petrovaradin fortress, and onlookers pick through the debris on the bank. The Hungarian caption calls it the blown-up road bridge: the Prince Tomislav bridge, which Yugoslav forces blew up in April 1941, and the card was printed in Budapest during the Hungarian occupation that followed.
