# Digging the boulevard extension

Men with shovels work a torn up roadway, a wheelbarrow beside them and a deep trench open across the foreground. Apartment blocks of the 1920s and 1930s stand along the far side, among them a rounded corner block, with hoardings at the kerb and a bicycle propped against them.
